And they'll only make non-whites who aren't registered Pubs prove they are citizens.
I assume your post is tongue in cheek, but how would NC or DHS know the race of someone from the voter roll? Going off zip code/party? Or if the name sounds black/latino? Would Bubba Wallace make the cut?

Do you have an opinion as to why the DHS would want to receive the NC voter rolls because for the life of me I can't fathom why the DHS would have any interest in getting the NC voter rolls ?

Going off if they are registered Dem or independent, what district they live in, and the name.

I can’t think of any good reason. Probably part of the government AI push to make a dossier on every American.

Seems pretty easy. Just pull up information on the person. The government has access to information on all of us, which generally includes race.

Which begs the question, if they have all of that information already, why would they need voter rolls? I'd think their super computers would already have that information.

Well, they may be requesting voter rolls for purposes other than the one CF stated, but hypothetically, if they were requesting it for that purpose, the voter rolls let them know who votes. I do not believe other information databases provide that particular info. The voter rolls make up the one and only database for that information (and also include party affliction, etc.) The voter rolls would allow them to home in on those who actually go out and vote. And if DHS is trying to have voters disqualified, it likely needs the voter rolls to give it some appearance of credibility when it goes back to the state board of elections to tell them why it should purge certain individuals from the voter rolls.

They are going to use this information to claim that voters must be stricken from the rolls because they aren't citizens or don't live where they claim etc. It's a prelude to a last-minute "enforcement action."
Who is they? DHS or NCSBE? Presumably, this would be DHS telling NCSBE to strike voters on non-citizenship grounds. I wonder if that would be done by stealth so that voters show up to the polls and find out they need to vote provisional and prove citizenship or whether this would be something with heads-up notice prior to election day?

That's who Clarence Thomas always has been. Shitting on progressivism was how he attracted attention. It's how he found his white wife. It's how he found the billionaires who bought him. He has never been a jurist. He has always been a deeply ridiculous and foolish ideologue.
This is an anonymous internet board. Don't hold back. Tell us what you really think. No need to engage in PC euphemisms.

DOJ "Civil Rights" Division. They are going to try to use this as some pretext for an election executive order/"enforcement" action.

I would think the courts would enjoin that. Does the federal executive have any statutory authority to oversee state elections?

No. But the courts enjoining has not been a Trump concern, has it? It might or might not be a dangerous game, but they are playing games without question. I'm not sure that is the specific game but it seems more likely than other functions. Here is their press release:

"Accurate voter rolls are the cornerstone of fair and free elections, and too many states have fallen into a pattern of noncompliance with basic voter roll maintenance," said Attorney General Pamela Bondi. "The Department of Justice will continue filing proactive election integrity litigation until states comply with basic election safeguards."

Key phrase is “last minute”. Not enough time to challenge and overturn before the election. That is the intended purpose

Good news this afternoon... Trump "signaled" that Iran wants to talk and the stock market rallied !

I wonder when Trump's inner circle got the heads up. I'm guessing early this morning in enough time to get their buy orders in today and their sell orders in for tomorrow .
Yea, I've reached a new high for the year. I just don't understand the markets. They make no sense.

Considering the shitshow of logic on display in your response, your opinion isn't worth the ink you left on the page literally.
So glad I don’t have to read the drivel that is Zen since the ignore function works so well! You could all just ignore it/he/she/her/them but most likely “it” and poof they’re gone? But windmills of ignorance are apparently always popular targets.

The basic fact the House, Senate and White House may need to face soon is that the majority of the House wants warrant requirements on FISA. that may not be what the admin and intel community want. But a bipartisan majority in the House wants new restrictions and checks on FISA. And half measures clearly don’t work.
