This is such a very obviously coordinated hit campaign to try to deflect from and whitewash the overt racism and terrorist ideology of the American right wing.

Why the fuck are all the women athletes stuck in the back behind a line of old men?
Because in MAGA World this is seen as the proper order of things. And after the photo shoot many of the old rich white males probably started hitting on and making passes at the young women (at least the white ones) because that's also the natural order of things - rich older white male privilege in action.

SPLC to KKK Leader: "We will give you $20k for information related to any events or protests by the organization."

KKK Leader to group members: "We need to plan more events and protests!"

KKK Leader to SPLC: "There are several events coming up in the next few months. Here are the dates and locations...."

SPLC: "Here's your money! Thank you for helping to fight racism!".

It is amazing that you think that the only reason the KKK protests is because of this.

That's not at all what happens and you know it, but let's assume for a moment it is. If those "more events and protests," coupled with the information being passed to law enforcement, allows law enforcement to crack down on racist and neo-Nazi organizations in a way they couldn't absent the inside information, why is that a bad thing? You're saying that even if your scenario happened, the SPLC's money would be bringing secret, insular organizations into the open. That seems like an excellent use of their money to me.

I actually had a client about 20 years ago who was asked by the ATF (perhaps in coordination with other federal law enforcement agencies) if he’d be willing to join the KKK and work as an informant. He declined.

I don't know that at all. People are potentially being rewarded for generating the very activity that SPLC is trying to stop and SPLC is benefiting from it. They're putting their informants on their site as "extremists" and raising money from it.

Being a racist/neo-nazi and protesting isn't illegal. It's protected speech. But, the more protests there are, and the more visible these groups are in society, the more SPLC can say "See! Do you see how much of a problem racism is! Please donate today to help fight this!"

Or they are creating the fires they are (allegedly) trying to put out, to raise money.

Not only, but surely you can see the issue here, right?
If not organizations like the Southern Poverty Law Center, then who should take on that role? Are you suggesting agencies like the FBI or CIA should be more involved? For a movement that emphasizes limited government, there seems to be noticeable reluctance on the right to allow independent, non-governmental groups to operate freely.

Yes, I see the issue. The GOP is attempting to flush out informants from hate groups by doxxing them through baseless investigations. Just more confirmation that the GOP is the party of white supremacists.

Both sides are bad, though. What if I told you that since 2001, every single administration has given money to terrorists? These people are sworn to destroy us, yet they are getting free flights, personalized meals, free accommodations in safe spaces, and in some cases, get to live on our dime in oceanfront villas. That makes you mad, right?

Have we forgotten the lessons of the past?

And a useful timeline of all of the good that SPLC has done (along with why it was created in the first place):

“…
House Ethics Committee staffers interviewed around half-a-dozen of Adams’ employees about her relationship with Sandra Brown, who also serves as her district director, NOTUS reported. Brown has worked with Adams since 2014, when she was in the state House. Adams did not immediately answer a call to her cellphone. McClatchy independently confirmed the details of NOTUS’ reporting, speaking to a former staffer who said Adams’ preferential treatment toward Brown affected everything in the office from constituent services to employees’ mental health….”

Zen doing that right-wing dance again. The one where social activists have no principles at all and are just motivated by money. Climate scientists supposedly are so eager for grants that they will fabricate anything. Now it's anti-racism organizations.

It's quite a tell. Zen has no principles, so he assumes other people have none either.

Once again, he could benefit from some experience. I challenge him to visit an SPLC office. Maybe then he can see if these are people riding a gravy train of ill-obtained riches. I'm sure he envisions caviar and pinot everywhere the eye can see.

So your thought process (and I don’t mean your personal thought process as the person behind the keyboard, but the thought process of the dimwitted poster you often portray yourself to be) leads you to conclude that people paid by the SPLC are outing themselves as informants to extremists and extremist organizations so that they can share the wealth they derive from being a paid informant for the purpose of aiding those extremists in engaging in extremist activities in which those extremists would not otherwise engage. That’s an interesting take.
