This is interesting. People who know more about history than me have said that Pope John Paul II was more responsible for the fall of the Iron Curtain than Reagan or Thatcher. When he visited Poland and drew millions of people, the communist east realized they weren't the legitimate sovereigns in the minds of the Poles. Honestly, I have wondered if that isn't why Leo was chosen. Perhaps it is time for him to come and tour the States.
