The part that infuriates me most is the fact that's shes blond without an obvious accent DOESN'T MAKE IT ONE BIT WORSE THAN ALL THE OTHER VIDEOS WE'VE SEEN.

It's not somehow worse. She's a human being. Full stop. Same as every other human being these fuckers have done this to. Each and every one of these incidents is it's own separate outrage.
If intended as a pointed reminder of Niemoller's poem or the sentiments within, it doesn't bother me. Tool to task and some people call for a blunt object.

First they came for the Communists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Communist
Then they came for the Socialists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Socialist
Then they came for the trade unionists
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a trade unionist
Then they came for the Jews
And I did not speak out
Because I was not a Jew
Then they came for me
And there was no one left
To speak out for me

When asked about Smith testifying behind closed doors, Trump said on Wednesday that he would prefer a public hearing. He went on to attack the former special counsel as a “thug.”

But it comes as Trump is fighting to keep Smith’s final report on his mishandling of classified documents from going public. The report had been submitted just before Trump took office for a second term.

In a court filing on Tuesday, the president urged Judge Aileen Cannon, whom he appointed, to extend the order blocking the Justice Department from releasing the report.

“…
The Trump administration has essentially shuttered the institute, which works to resolve conflict and was created by Congress in 1984. The administration’s budget request for the next fiscal year called for the elimination of federal funding for USIP.

USIP is not a federal agency, and it owns and manages its headquarters. The administration’s takeover of the institute, including its building and assets, has been the subject of extensive litigation.

In March, officials at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) attempted to forcibly obtain access to the building, before returning days later accompanied by police.

… A former USIP official said of Trump: “It’s pretty ironic that he put his name on an institution he destroyed.”

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly defended the move in a statement, arguing that USIP “was once a bloated, useless entity that blew $50 million per year while delivering no peace.”

“Now, the Donald J. Trump Institute of Peace, which is both beautifully and aptly named after a President who ended eight wars in less than a year, will stand as a powerful reminder of what strong leadership can accomplish for global stability,” she said.“

No one is safe from Trump's jackboot brown shirt stormtroopers...

🎁 —> Trump’s Favorite Role? Foreign-Policy Czar.

“… By now, following decades of tightly woven interdependence, distrust has become a central feature of trans-Atlantic relations. No matter what happens next in Ukraine or how the remainder of Trump’s time in office plays out, it will be difficult to recover mutual confidence.

In the shorter term, though, not even the fundamental weakening of the United States’ most important relationship constitutes the worst of the damage. What the Trump administration’s recent diplomacy has laid fully bare is the utterly erratic, unplanned, and personalized character of the president’s method of dealing with the rest of the world.

… From all appearances, the Trump administration’s foreign-policy operations lack in interagency coordination, leading to galling oversights and an overall impression of sheer amateurism. How else to understand the failure to consult with Ukraine’s neighbors before announcing a peace plan delivered with
a short-term ultimatum on compliance?

… At this point, no one would be surprised if that included hints that Trump and members of his family and inner circle, such as Witkoff, could personally profit in the future from large real estate and natural resource deals.

If this theory is borne out, the Trump administration will have laid U.S. diplomacy to ruin by abandoning the principle that international borders should not be changed through force and actively disregarding the country’s longest-standing allies. If naked transactionalism is indeed the motor driving U.S. foreign policy, it will drive Washington’s standing in the world into the ground.“

“… Some 2,900 billionaires now control $15.8 trillion, up from about 2,700 billionaires with a cumulative wealth of nearly $14 trillion a year earlier. The number and wealth of billionaires as a whole were boosted by the second-highest number of new billionaires minted in a year—287—since UBS began tracking that figure in 2015. Only 2021, with its flood of government stimulus and low interest rates that boosted the prices of assets, saw a higher number of new billionaires created.…”

“… With just over 84% of the votes counted, conservative candidate Nasry Asfura - who has the backing of US President Donald Trump - moved ahead of centrist TV presenter Salvador Nasralla, but the difference between the two is minimal at just 0.3 percentage points.

The vote count has been delayed twice by technical outages, which electoral officials called "inexcusable".

The electoral council has urged Hondurans to be patient and police have increased security around the hotel where the votes are being tallied.…”
