It's also totally reasonable to not want neighbors who are MAGA. Can we start making national policy that puts that reasonable standard into practice?

How do the leopards still have room after all the faces they've already eaten? It would be incredible if DEI gets reconsidered because white men might experience repercussions.
And also completely predictable. From the MAGA Rulebook: As long as the pain and suffering and discrimination is being felt by others it's A-OK, but the moment it happens to us it's intolerable and must stop.It would be incredible if DEI gets reconsidered because white men might experience repercussions.
SameI feel incredibly safe in uptown Charlotte
They migrate here, but refuse to assimilate with our culture. We wouldn't have these illegals stabbing people if we'd sell them guns like they were Americans.
Years ago I read an article about Women from Mexico that came her Kept their diet, had Maw Maw around etc. Had beautiful pregnancy outcomesThey migrate here, but refuse to assimilate with our culture.
The whole "assimilation" argument is such bullshit, as it's been used since the 1800s by nativists to argue against allowing immigrants into the country. It was argued in the mid-1800s that Irish Catholic immigrants were white trash Papists who could never "assimilate" into a heavily Protestant country. And yet they did. In the early 1900s it was argued that Italians and Eastern Europeans would never assimilate into American society, that Italians were invariably criminals and anarchists, and were incapable of becoming "Real Americans", and yet they seemed to do just fine. If one looks at American history the people arguing that a certain immigrant group will never become a part of mainstream American culture have nearly always been proven to be utterly wrong. They migrate here, but refuse to assimilate with our culture.
I agree, what I see in my area is that Mexican/Latino immigrants are assimilating much like previous waves of immigrant groups...The whole "assimilation" argument is such bullshit, as it's been used since the 1800s by nativists to argue against allowing immigrants into the country. Besides the obvious problem with demanding that immigrants behave just like white Protestant middle-class Americans (a melting pot as opposed to the tossed salad concept of American society), the truth is that pretty much every immigrant group to America did assimilate within a generation or two and in fact enriched American culture with their own traditions, foods, customs, languages, and everything else they brought with them. I've noticed in many small NC towns how the MAGA locals may hate "Mexican" (Latino) immigrants, but they sure as hell love eating at Mexican/Latino restaurants and drinking those margaritas.
You mean it’s Russia and Xi’s plan that Trump slavishly wants to follow like a sad guilty puppy dog who got caught peeing on the whores.Based on that awful NSC paper that was released a few days ago detailing how Trump 2.0 intends to completely change our post-WW2 foreign and military policy, it seems clear that the Trump Administration is planning to divide the world into 3 spheres of influence, with Russia holding sway over Europe, China getting sway over Asia, and America controlling the Western Hemisphere and the Middle East via its proxies Israel and Saudi Arabia. I don't think it will work out that way, as China, for example, is already making major inroads into Latin America, but that does seem to be their plan.
Which, according to the NSC paper, apparently consists of turning xenophobic on immigration (which will cause untold damage to our economy), and turning back the clock on pretty much every social and cultural advance of the last half-century. Women will be pushed to give up their careers and go back to being tradwives popping out kids to keep the white population up, universities and schools will be forced to adopt an "Americuh, Hell Yeah!" curriculum that will emphasize only the good parts of US History and leave out most of the bad and any teacher or professor that objects will be fired, efforts will be made to drive the LGBTQ community back into the closet, and so on. I think it will all fail miserably and will end up making both the world and America much less safe and prosperous and stable, but that seems to be the plan.Hegseth declares end of US 'utopian idealism' with new military strategy
The Defense secretary, speaking at the Reagan Defense Forum, outlined defense priorities that focus on the Western Hemisphere and reevaluate the U.S. relationship with Europe.
“… His remarks underscored the new National Security Strategy released late Thursday and previewed the Pentagon’s own upcoming strategy, which will lay out the military’s global priorities.
“Out with idealistic utopianism,” he said. “In with hard-nosed realism.”
The Defense secretary’s speech revealed an administration moving toward a policy that recognizes zones of influence led by great powers — China in the Pacific, the U.S. in the Western Hemisphere and Europe broadly, although he made only a passing reference to Russia.
The U.S. should not be “distracted by democracy building, interventionism, undefined wars, regime change, climate change, woke moralizing and feckless nation-building,” Hegseth said. “We will instead put our nation’s practical, concrete interests first.”…”
