“… In all, the CIA retracted 17 intelligence reports that predate Trump’s current term and recalled two others for substantial revisions. The retracted reports will be deleted from agency databases and no longer be available to U.S. policymakers.

The agency released partially redacted versions of three of those reports. One analyzes the role of women in violent white nationalist groups overseas; a second discusses challenges facing LGBT activists in the Islamic world; and the third covers the coronavirus pandemic’s impact on access to contraception and family planning in developing countries.

Those issues were of interest to prior Democratic administrations. But the senior CIA official, briefing reporters on the condition of anonymity under ground rules set by the agency, said they were inappropriate topics for the agency to focus on and, in some cases, relied on biased sources of information.
“There’s absolutely no room for bias of any kind in CIA’s work. So when we find that our tradecraft did not reach that high bar of impartiality, we must correct the record,” the official said.…”

JFC, their stock in trade is to collect every dirty secret, careless whisper or half spoken aside and cull through them for any little secret to act on or use for blackmail, no matter what the source. What is this "butter won't melt in my mouth" BS? Could somebody remind them of Curveball?

Shutting down PreCheck and Global Entry is spiteful political theater intended to inflict pain on Americans. This puts more strain on TSA agents working without paychecks. PreCheck takes pressure off of TSA agents. No one benefits from decision this other than members of the Trump Administration who derive pleasure from the suffering of regular Americans. This will backfire. Business travelers will not blame Democrats….they know this was a political choice by the Trump Administration designed to inconvenience them and put unneeded additional stress on TSA.
