I don’t know if this POV is accurate but it seems to be shared by quite a few observers — that the Pentagon parked an Aircraft Carrier to created escalators pressure on any Iranian response to military action:

What’s most disturbing is that they’ve fired a weapons-grade laser in frequently occupied air space without notifying the FAA in andvance and they’ve done this at least twice in a few weeks.

It seems they’re firing at unidentified targets. That’s worse than “most disturbing.”

When we took out Maduro in Venezuela, Trump opted to put the Vice Dictator in charge. If he choose to do regime change in Iran, will we turn things over to the Vice Ayatollah?
