It really is amazing how Trump makes everything about him. He just has to throw something in there about how Adams respected him, as if it’s relevant.
That's because the only thing that Trump knows or cares about most people is how they feel about him.

I mean, he can sometimes come up with a few other facts - that are typically distorted based on how Trump feels about the person - but how they spoke about and acted to Trump is the only thing he really knows about them.

You don't say.
It has to be an interesting and odd part of the the positions of any number of folks on Capitol Hill to try to address the things that Trump says (and does) where you have to effectively say "The President is a fucking idiot" without being able to say "The President is a fucking idiot".

Republicans, the economic media and a sizable percentage of Democrats would be losing their minds about socialism and communism and controlling the means of production if a Democratic POTUS did any of these things (other than the crypto piece, which is a separate issue), much less all of them.

Edit to add:

The media is so afraid to call this what it is.

By desperate times, I assume he means the near term polling ahead of the 2026 election? Because the GOP didn’t think the Great Recession or COVID were desperate enough times to do this.

Strange Bedfellows today:
