I would imagine we should get used to this for the remainder of Trump's term. He doesn't have folks at the DOJ who have any real competence and any holdovers/lifers who are competent have been sidelined out of fear they won't do what Trump wants.
Of course we "entered" our 250th year this past July 4. But the rubes would not understand something as simple as math and calendars.
I think consistently attributing “belief” to these people gives them cover. I think they promote the narrative that benefits them the most without any care for the truthfulness of the narrative. They often do this with full knowledge they are spreading lies.
