If those are in fact your interests, no. Though I don't like much classic rock, I think it would be unfair to label it authoritarian per se. I shouldn't have said you specifically, as I was talking about a correlation, which is invalid to apply in specific instances. Also, your politics are not necessarily strongly authoritarian . That you apologize for authoritarianism doesn't necessarily mean you'd be whispering in Trump's ear like Stephen Miller.

But let's focus on the topic at hand. Why do you reject non-classical forms for state and federal buildings? Do you think that's connected to your political beliefs?

I was just playing some auto-tune the news episodes for my tween kids a couple of weeks ago. They actually thought it was some funny stuff. Rare dad pop culture reference success!

But the last thing we want or need is violence against a current or former president. Why use the Secret Service? He's grifted enough while in office to pay for his own detail a million times over. Let him. Better yet, give him a detail for the rest of his life ... in a federal supermax prison.

She's the kind that would take physical threats as a badge of honor and thinks that if anyone tried anything she'd just shoot them first. And then she'd collapse in the fetal position and piss herself if anything actually happened.

She's the perfect example that some folks would act a lot better if they got punched in the mouth once in a while when they deserved it.

Ram, do you think the Museum of African American History, one of the most recent additions to the Mall, should have been constructed in classical style?

No. That’s a museum so more artistic license. I’m fine with museums or theaters being trendy and cutting edge. Official government buildings need to be solid and timeless. I love the Guggenheim but I don’t want our Capitol to look like it.

FEMA’s Chaotic Summer Has Gone From Bad to Worse

Following a week of strife at the disaster relief agency, Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem told FEMA employees to “be vocal” about their positive experiences with the Trump administration.

On Thursday, Department of Homeland Security secretary Kristi Noem claimed that the Federal Emergency Management Agency “is much more responsive under President Trump to people’s needs than it has been under previous administrations.” Speaking at the public third meeting of the FEMA Review Council, a group appointed by Donald Trump at the beginning of this year to oversee reform of the agency, Noem encouraged those listening to “be vocal” about positive interactions with the Trump administration.

“Tell the story of how different FEMA has been the last seven, eight months under [Trump’s] leadership than it was previous to that,” she said.



It was a notable instruction, as this week has been anything but complimentary for FEMA. On Monday, more than 190 current and former FEMA employees signed onto a public letter criticizing the agency. While most employees signed anonymously, 35 of them signed with their names attached. Many current employees who signed onto the letter with their full names were almost immediately placed on administrative leave following the publication of the letter, The Washington Post reported.

So what happens when Trump tells the Smithsonian, which is completely dependent on federal funding, that any future museums need to be in classical style?

Because that's absolutely coming.

The Guggenheim, unlike Smithsonian museums like the Museum of African American History, is also not dependent on federal funding, which is now 100% in the control of the Dictator in Chief.
