Gotta be honest, I don't have a huge problem with banning masks at public assemblies in most circumstances. There's no equivalence between a masked protestor and a masked ICE agent, though. Law enforcement should never be permitted to wear a mask while encountering or apprehending a member of the general public, unless the circumstances absolutely require something like a gas mask.

Can you imagine what would happen if a masked, non-uniformed person carrying an assault rifle started pounding on the door of one of America's Second Amendment aficionados in the middle of the night? No chance in HELL that person wouldn't come out shooting.
 
Just skimmed through today's posts here. I won't comment in detail, because frankly I don't have time to get into it and also because it'll just get lost in the conversations, but HOLY EFFING HELL what an absolute shitshow we are living in now, courtesy of this administration and its minions. What a total mess. I might actually consider drinking heavily until November 2028 becuase it'll be better for my health.

It's obvious that ICE includes Proud Boys and J6 "alumni." Occam's Razor of banality. These criminals (our current executive branch) are no Einsteins.

Sure it does. It confirms that antifa and other black bloc groups intentionally conceal their identities during protests in order to carry out criminal activities. It also confirms that although there is no one central leadership structure, the members of these groups coordinate with each other to carry out these tactics.

You know my dad-God rest his soul- was a member of Antifa. The US Government trained him during WWII to fight fascists. He and every other American was definitely anti-fascist, or “Antifa” as they said at the time.

What a coincidence ! My dad was too. I wonder if your dad and my dad knew each other. There were so few anti-fascists fighting to protect American democracy during WWII so I would not be surprised if they met and maybe hung out .

The people wearing masks to conceal their identity generally aren't normal members of the "public". They are professional agitators/rioters who are concealing their identity because they intend to commit criminal acts and don't want to be caught. Protesting is protected free speech; rioting is not.

How are ICE agents supposed to know not to arrest each other? They're masked, armed and act suspiciously.

Impersonating an officer is a crime, but it sure seems like it would be easy to infiltrate and impersonate ICE peeps… just to muck things up a bit… give em a black eye.
