Republican Senator Defiantly Accuses Elon Musk Of Trying to Silence GOP Members: ‘We Cannot be Cowed!’

“Alaska’s Senior Senator Lisa Murkowski(R-AK) warned this week that Republicans are being intimidated into silence by Elon Musk and other pro-Trump influencers, in a fiery takedown of the political climate in her party.

Murkowski spoke to reporters after remarks at the Alaska State Capitol in Juneau on Wednesday.

… “I get criticized for what I say, and then everybody else is like, well, how come nobody else is saying anything? Well, figure it out, because they’re looking at how many things are being thrown at me, and it’s like, maybe I just better duck and cover,” she added of her fellow Republicans, concluding:

That’s why you’ve got everybody just. Like, ziplipped, not saying a word, because they’re afraid they’re going to be taken down, they’re going to be primaried, they’re going to be given names in the media. You know what? We cannot be cowed into not speaking up. …”

Geez. Paul Weiss capitulates.

I am sure the partners are telling themselves they didn’t actually agree to anything they weren’t already doing (including the pro bono time) but sheesh.
That (which is almost certainly true), and there’s no possible chance Karp actually “acknowledged wrongdoing” by Pomerantz, but whatever. I get annoyed when companies appear to kowtow to Trump, but giving him empty “victories” on things like this is a whole lot less important than the actual harm he’s wreaking on our country.

I know it shouldn't be a surprise, but one of the more depressing features of Trump 2.0 has been the ease and speed of corporations, law firms, universities, media outlets, etc. in bending the knee to Trump and giving in to his whims. Reminds me of Princess Amidala saying in Revenge of the Sith "so this how democracy dies - with applause."
