“… Talking up his efforts on Tuesday, Trump said he was a better president than George Washington and Abraham Lincoln.

“(Someone said) ‘you are the third-best president in the United States’ ... this was on television,” he told Senators as during a lavish lunch in the newly renovated White House Rose Garden.

“So I said who are the first two? ‘George Washington and Abraham Lincoln’. I got very upset with this man... They didn’t put out eight wars. We put out eight wars.”

… The award puts Trump in the company of past recipients, including O’Brien, former US Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, and former Arizona Senator John McCain….”

This MAGA story reminds me of those elaborate yarns that State fans used to spin on Pack Pride where they would be on vacation somewhere and would meet a UNC fan in a shop or restaurant and the obnoxious UNC fan would give some smug putdown, but the State poster would always claim they responded with such an epic comeback that it left the UNC fan shattered and unable to respond to the State fan's verbal and mental brilliance. Those stories used to be posted on Pack Pride from time to time, and they were always amusing to read.
My favorite was a story by CalStabn, if anyone remembers him.
Basically, he was on some sort of father-son retreat at the beach and according to his own version of the story, his son was playing by himself and some other fathers (who were wearing UNC gear) encouraged their sons to introduce themselves to CalStabn’s son and include him in their group. But CalStabn was having none of that and insulted the fathers and ran them off. He was so proud of himself.
Didn’t seem to care a bit that his lonely son might have wanted to play with some other kids.

Arizona sues US House over delay in swearing in Democrat Grijalva

WASHINGTON (Reuters) -The state of Arizona on Tuesday sued the Republican-controlled U.S. House of Representatives over the delayed swearing in of Democratic Representative-elect Adelita Grijalva.

Grijalva, 54, won a special election last month to fill the House seat that was left vacant when her father, Raul Grijalva, died in March. House Speaker Mike Johnson has said he will swear her when the House returns, but has kept lawmakers out of Washington for more than a month, saying they will not return until the Senate passes a measure to end the ongoing government shutdown.
