See Bush One in 1992 - Los Angeles.
'Cause everybody in the hood has had it up to here
It's getting hotter and hotter and harder each and every year
Some kids went in a store with their mother
I saw her when she came out, she was gettin' some Pampers
They said it was for the black man
They said it was for the Mexican, and not for the white man
But if you look at the streets, it wasn't about Rodney King
And this fucked up situation and these fucked up police
It's about comin' up and stayin' on top
And screamin' 1-8-7 on a motherfuckin' cop
It's not in the paper, it's on the wall
National Guard
Smoke from all around

Everyone keep cool. Don’t give them want they want.

I’m willing to bet enough Leftists get openly stupid over the next 1-3 weeks that they help Trump militarize the National Guard.

Leftists are plenty stupid and willing to burn it all down.

Paine and rai_guy…..y’all are well left of center…….you’re not the Leftists I’m highlighting.

I would be the first to say that I am still committed to militant, powerful,
massive, non-violence as the most potent weapon in grappling with the problem
from a direct action point of view.
I'm absolutely convinced that a riot merely intensifies the fears of the white community
while relieving the guilt.
And I feel that we must always work with an effective, powerful weapon
and method that brings about tangible results.
But it is not enough for me to stand before you tonight and condemn riots. It would be morally irresponsible
for me to do that without, at the same time, condemning the contingent, intolerable conditions that exist
in our society.
These conditions are the things that cause individuals to feel that they have no other alternative than to engage in violent rebellions to get attention. And I must say tonight that a riot is the language of the unheard.

It’s worth remembering that protest movements don’t always start perfectly coordinated. Sometimes the energy and urgency have to come first to build momentum and leadership. The key is learning from these moments and organizing more effectively as they grow.

I get where you’re coming from about how some protests can feel chaotic or risk backlash, especially when leadership and coordination are weak. That’s a real challenge for many ostensibly “left wing” protest movements right now.

That being said, frustration and anger are understandable responses to harsh immigration policies, and not every protester is out to “burn it all down.” Many are genuinely trying to push for humane change.

If you look back at the civil rights movement, many of the protests faced similar criticisms of being disruptive or uncoordinated. What helped the movement succeed was having a strong network of leaders with clear vision and strategy, something the left is seriously lacking at the moment.
