Lady G doing a Trump impersonation and dropping the hammer on Norway

Lindsey represents NC now?

That'd immediately result in Obama being arrested, Obama claiming "But all the stuff I did was as an official action as president, so you can't charge me with a crime", then Trump saying "well, then my extrajudicial arrest of you is also an official action as a president, so it's perfectly legal" before throwing Obama down a well.

Honestly...good.

The pain is going to have to hit "everyday Americans" before there is any chance they learn from their stupidity. As long as the pain is restricted to immigrants and trans folks and people of color and urban dwellers, then the morons who make up the base of MAGA will never have a chance to grasp why electing Trump is such a bad idea.

So many idiots believe that government doesn't help them because most of the many, many ways that government helps them is largely invisible and comes through third parties. A silver lining to the Trump debacle would be if America, as a whole, comes to understand all the ways that a functioning government is beneficial to them and to society as a whole.

I hope more of the pain ends up in these communities.

Yeah. I hear you. I definitely understand that perspective. I just hate it so much for the kids who didn’t vote for this, though.

Iti s what they voted for

As a Christian myself…… what the literal fuck is this? This is so unbelievably inappropriate for the Department of Homeland Security to tweet. Even by the unfathomably low standards of our current Republicans, this is pretty shocking.

Abe Holtzman was a Poli Sci professor at NC State in the ‘70’s and ‘80’s (maybe longer).

When he taught Introductory Poli Sci, the first day of class involved him asking the students if they’d received any services from the government that day. Most students said, “No.”

Then Abe would start asking questions.
  • “Who is an in-state student?” Most hands go up. “Does in-state tuition fully fund this University?”
  • “If you live off-campus, how did you get to campus? Drove, walked, took the bus, biked? Who paid for the roads/sidewalks, traffic lights, crosswalks?”
  • “Did you brush your teeth? Shower? Use a toilet? Wash your hands?”
Abe was witty and fun. He reveled in this style of “teaching”/“lecturing.”

Light bulbs came on for a few students; most continued to think that government did nothing for them.

The residents of Montgomery County will continue supporting Trump and Phil Berger and right-wing Republicans.

“… A pocket rescission is a request that’s presented to Congress so late in the fiscal year — which ends Sept. 30 — that it’s made regardless of whether Congress acts.

The clawback includes $3.2 billion in United States Agency for International Development (USAID) development assistance, $322 million from the USAID-State Department Democracy Fund, $521 million in State Department contributions to international organizations, $393 million in State Department contributions to peacekeeping activities and $445 million in separately budgeted peacekeeping aid.

The spending had been destined for a wide variety of nonprofits and foreign governments and was paused earlier this year by the White House Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and then stuck in legal limbo due to an ensuing lawsuit filed by the Global Health Council.

The DC Circuit Court of Appeals on Thursday lifted an injunction in the case, opening the door for Trump to proceed with the first attempted pocket rescission since 1977.…”
