Treasury Department considers minting a $1 Trump coin

"... “Despite the radical left’s forced shutdown of our government, the facts are clear: Under the historic leadership of President Donald J. Trump, our nation is entering its 250th anniversary stronger, more prosperous, and better than ever before,” a Treasury Department spokesperson said in a statement.

“While a final $1 dollar coin design has not yet been selected to commemorate the United States’ semiquincentennial, this first draft reflects well the enduring spirit of our country and democracy, even in the face of immense obstacles.”

Congress in 2020 passed bipartisan legislation, signed by Trump during his first term, that authorizes the Treasury Secretary to issue $1 dollar coins during the 2026 calendar year. The design of those coins must be “emblematic of the United States semiquincentennial.”

Beach, who supervises the U.S. Mint, said in a post on X Friday that the administration would share “more soon, once the obstructionist shutdown of the United States government is over.” ..."
Underneath all the aggressive macho posturing and braggadocio Trumpers are some of the most insecure people alive. They're always looking for vindication and something to rub in their opponent's faces, so a Trump Coin makes perfect sense for them. Get the coin and wave it in liberal's faces, while also feeling validated in your love of Dear Leader by holding an actual US government coin with his face on it! It's pitiful, really, but it's who they are.

“Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth on Friday fired Navy chief of staff Jon Harrison, delivering a blow to the insider who helped rewire internal protocols to fit the vision of the Trump administration’s defense agenda.

Harrison’s removal comes after the confirmation of Navy Undersecretary Hung Cao, whom President Trump appointed to serve as the second-most senior civilian under Navy Secretary John Phelan….”

A bit odd among the slow-moving military purge b/c Harrison has been a Trump groupie dating back to Trump 1.0. I guess part of some internal political power play:

“… Harrison, a Trump administration appointee who joined the service in January, had a rare level of power.

Harrison and Navy Secretary John Phelan had introduced sweeping changes to the Navy’s policy and budgeting offices and sought to limit the influence of the undersecretary job.

POLITICO previously reported that Phelan and Harrison had reassigned several aides who were supposed to help Cao navigate the role once he’s confirmed. They had also planned to interview all future military assistants for Cao to ensure decisions came from the secretary’s office…”

🎁 —> Trump’s Purge of Terrorism Prosecutors

“… On Wednesday night, the department pushed out Michael Ben’Ary, who was head of national security at the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Eastern District of Virginia. He lost his job, CNN reported, because a MAGA activist had falsely accused him of resisting the recent indictment of former FBI Director James Comey. (Ben’Ary was not involved in the case, the network found.)

… His ouster follows that of George Toscas, one of the most experienced anti-terrorist attorneys in the Justice Department. As the deputy assistant attorney general in the National Security Division, Toscas had encouraged the investigation into the inappropriate storage of classified documents at Mar-a-Lago after Trump left office in 2020. Toscas was forced out of his division and sidelined at the DOJ in January….”

Vlad "the Ras" Putin may be currently lossing the battle in Ukraine, but he is for sure winning the war in the United States. I cannot (and do not want) to imagine what sort of Kompromat Russia has on St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago to make him dance to the tune Vald the Ras is playing.

“Attorney General Pam Bondi said the Department of Justice will be appealing the ‘woefully insufficient’ sentence for the would-be assassin of Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh.

A Maryland federal judge sentenced Sophie Roske of Simi Valley, Calif., on Oct. 3 to eight years in prison for flying across the country to Kavanaugh’s house with a gun and other weapons. Federal prosecutors were seeking “at least 30 years to life.

… Roske’s lawyers proposed an eight-year sentence. They argued that prosecutors downplayed Roske’s surrender and provided only perfunctory analysis of Roske’s mental health issues.

“As any internet user knows, Googling and doom-scrolling, even in dark corners of the internet, does not equate to criminal intent,” the defense lawyers said in a filing.…”

3-8 years in prison seems like a pretty firm sentence for a man who called the cops on himself before he was even wanted.
