As a reminder, Santos PLEADED guilty to a number of crimes including unemployment fraud. Just remember that the next time someone like ramrouser tells you it’s important to him to stop fraud and waste in government.I’m sure there’s a thread somewhere on the board that’d be a better fit for this, but I’m too lazy to look.

Even before he was charged, he announced he wasn't going to run for re-election.... clearly a move he hoped would take attention off of him and an acknowledgement of guilt.

Should anyone have forgotten, these are the convictions for this piece of shit:
As part of his guilty plea, Santos confessed to multiple fraudulent schemes, including:
- Defrauding campaign donors: He admitted to deceiving donors and using their contributions for personal expenses, including luxury goods and paying off his credit card debts.
- Aggravated identity theft: He stole the personal and financial information of elderly and cognitively impaired donors.
- Filing false financial reports: He submitted falsified Federal Election Commission (FEC) filings, inflating his fundraising totals and fabricating donor information.
- Unemployment benefits fraud: He illegally received unemployment benefits.
