Customer service varies so much from company to company. With AI answering systems, it seems that most companies are opting for the FU approach.
SO. When you get good customer service, it really feels good.
I have two utility companies that have excellent customer service.
First my gas company. I needed to renew, they actually have two numbers. One to speak to a person, one for those who enjoy the automated experience.
Today, I called. They looked up my account from my number. The representative offered me a lower rate than in the renewal notice and I get a free umbrella . The entire process took about 3 minutes.
Second, my trash company. My trash company communicates via text. It's like texting with any friend. Once they didn't pick up my recyclables, I texted a picture and a message they texted back to leave the can at the street, and they would pick it up in the morning. They text if there is a delay or change in their service. And last week the card I have on file expired, they texted asking to update payment. I did, then texted back letting them know. It's great.
I really love customer service, therefore I'm not going to mention the customer service I have been receiving from progressive.
