Wait....there was a Commission of Fine Arts and we were paying SIX people to be on that commission?

Nearly all such bodies in every level of governance nationwide are voluntary and without compensation. They might get reimbursements for travel or food expenses for days they are meeting but more than that is highly unlikely.

Those are the staff members not the commissioners themselves. I imagine those who serve on the commission are unpaid volunteers.

Why do you believe the employees aren't the actual commissioners?

BTW, it wouldn't be any better to pay 11 employees in addition to compensating the commissioners.

But, Trump apparently fired all of them, so that's good.

Because I actually have some real world knowledge about how such things work.

And why do you think it is "good" that Trump fired the volunteers? He didnt save a penny. He likely just ensured that whatever money is being spent is entirely wasted because he will install completely inept people to guide the staff.

That's a pretty good reason, but you know it's not gonna change his mind.

Less about changing minds, more about how it took all of 3 minutes to find the answer. An internet connection and a baseline level of curiosity would lead you to an actual answer. Evidence that Zen isn't looking for answers, he's looking for engagement.

The volunteers appear to be separate from the "staff", who were making over $100k per year.

Staff
The Staff of the Commission of Fine Arts, which administers the operations of the Commission and the Old Georgetown Board, consists of twelve full-time civil service employees. The current members of the CFA staff are:

Thomas Luebke, FAIA Secretary
Sarah Batcheler, AIA, LEED AP Assistant Secretary
Jessica Amos Historic Preservation Specialist, Old Georgetown Act
Christopher Berger Historic Preservation Specialist, Old Georgetown Act
Mary Catherine Bogard Historic Preservation Specialist, Old Georgetown Act
Anna Brown Senior Administration/Policy Advisor
Kay Fanning, PhD Historian
Daniel Fox Senior Advisor, Design Review & Historic Preservation
Carlton Hart Senior Urban Planner
Vacant Chief Operating Officer
Vivian Lee Architect, Shipstead-Luce Act
Vacant Technical Information Specialist
Vacant Architect and Planner
Zakiya Walters Administrative Officer

Yes. Thats what I said from the beginning. And it isnt the staff that was fired. It was the Commisioners. The volunteers.

There should be a word or name for people that go around trolling for responses like that

Still better bang for the buck compared to whatever bullshit job you steal a salary from.
