Eh. Of the redecorating that Trump has done, the Jackson Magnolia is the least of my concerns. I'm all for removing monuments related to our most heinous president. And that sentiment will be true in the future, as well.

I am not offended about the magnolia — it just seemed relevant to the thread topic. Too bad about the other trees being removed for the ballroom but progress(?)

1. I continue to think a large ballroom/event space on the WH grounds is a very good thing.
2. I find it reprehensible that Trump appears to be selling naming rights to the space. We should be paying for it with congressionally-approved funds, not private/corporate donations.
3. I also think the design of things like this should be subject to some independent, nonpartisan architectural review board or something. It's idiotic to let Trump build a tacky, gilded space that no other administration will ever feel comfortable using.

I’m reminded of a mom of a good buddy back when Ronald Reagan beat Jimmy Carter..

It was Inauguration Day and Ronnie and Nancy Reagan were moving into the White House and Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter were moving out.

My buddy’s Mom said, “At least class is moving back into the White House.”

The family was pro-GHWB in the primaries; all in with Reagan in the General……and voted Trump in 2016 and 2024……cuz…..you know…..classiness.

I just like old trees

Exactly what came to my mind.
I’m starting to think more than half of MAGA know they’re a joke, but they’re fine making America look like an idiocracy just to own the libs. No chance educated people like Ram are actually ok with stuff like this, except for the fact it makes the rest of us look foolish.
