The Trump administration announced in July that a 90,000-square-foot ballroom with a seated capacity for 650 people will be constructed in the White House's East Wing.

What is the melting point of gold leaf? Can this fireplace even be used for a fire with all that gilding? Answered my own question, if it is pure gold or close, the high melting point of gold means it should survive a wood-burning fire.

Yeah, I so desperately wish we could have made a deal where Kamala became president and Trump had the unfettered ability to do whatever the hell he wants with the White House renovations.
