Same! But it's crazy to me how many people prefer DST and would rather keep that year round, ditching standard time.
I love standard time. Summer nights are the best. Just please, for the love of god, stop changing it twice a year.

I live in AZ with year round Standard Time, nothing wrong with it at all. I'd be find with Daylight time instead of Standard time, so long as there is no switching back & forth. Pick one, stay with it.

I would prefer to have an earlier sunrise in winter. I don’t need it to still be dark at 8 AM in the winter and I don’t need it to still be daylight at 9 PM in the summer. Standard time is fine with me!
This^
As it is, if we're going to "change" the time... Daylight saving time should be NOW in the Northern Hemisphere. Fall Forward and Spring back. Then it would still be a little lighter in the Wintertime at 6pm and there would still be plenty of daylight after work in the summer - it just wouldn't be sunshine at 9pm at night - which is ridiculous.

But by all means ditch the electoral college

Of course the EC needs to be abolished, but it will never happen. Republicans will never get rid of the only fighting chance they have to win the presidency. They won the popular vote for the 2nd time in the last 9 elections by one of the slimmest margins in history. The system is rigged towards people that fear anyone who isn't like them.

As for time change, give me the most daylight after work as possible. EST

Republicans won the pop vote this year because a ton of people sat out because their vote was meaningless due to the EC. Not sure DJT would have won the popular vote this year if there were no electoral college.

The biggest factor to Trump winning the popular vote this year is that he was previously elected via the EC despite losing the popular vote, same for Bush43. Both Bush and Trump won the popular vote only in their second term. But for incumbency or semi-incumbency, there is no Republican popular vote win since Bush 41.

Pubs will never go for getting rid of the EC because they know their only hope of winning is based primarily on winning enough states in the south and other mostly rural states like MT, ND, SD, IA, ID and the midwest.

Democrats can talk about abolishing the Electoral College or expanding the size of the Supreme Court or similar reforms all they want, but until they actually can start winning presidential elections and comfortable control of Congress on a regular basis that's simply not going to happen, and will remain nothing more than talk. Republicans are never going to abolish the Electoral College given the substantial advantage it gives to them in presidential elections, and they'll never agree to expand the Supreme Court either. So abolishing the EC is simply going to remain nothing more than a message board talking point, unfortunately, at least for the foreseeable future.

Nah, if they win the White House once without winning the popular vote, Republicans will drop the EC faster than a 5 week old fetus' "heartbeat".

True, but I don't see that happening. Unless something really changes with the makeup of each party's base, I don't see the Democrats winning the EC and not the popular vote as well. To win the EC the Democrats actually need to win the national popular vote by several million votes. Biden barely won the EC but won the national popular vote by 7 million, and it's likely that future Democratic candidates will need to do the same to overcome the GOP's natural advantage in the EC.

Crazy how we let the minority rule just to make some states feel they are just as important as others.
