I love standard time. Summer nights are the best. Just please, for the love of god, stop changing it twice a year.
Changing it is the twice a year is the best. It stays light later for nearly 8 months of the year (which I love), and you get a little more light in the morning (and little more warmth) during the colder months. I’ll be pissed if they change it. It’s the best of both worlds with the time change. And it’s not like it’s that big of a deal to change the clock twice a year. And the extra hour you get for “fall back” is nice.

I would prefer to have an earlier sunrise in winter. I don’t need it to still be dark at 8 AM in the winter and I don’t need it to still be daylight at 9 PM in the summer. Standard time is fine with me!
You must be old and not do anything outside past 6 PM if you don’t like daylight at 9 PM in the summer.

Most people can’t do anything productive with daylight at 6 AM. Lots of evening daylight is what keeps my soul alive, and it certainly helps when coaching youth sports on fields that do t have lights.

I concur with this take.

Apparently the real divide is not in regard to the electoral college. Apparently it's regarding the topic of daylight savings time. :D

I get the youth sports, but the earlier the sun goes down in the summer, the better IMO. I love sitting outside on a summer evening as the sun disappears and it cools down just a bit. The lack of daylight has never kept me from doing anything I wanted to do in the summer.

We should just stay on standard time year round - they apparently tried to make DST permanent in the 70s and it was a disaster
Really the solution is to split the difference. This Spring, move the clocks up 30 minutes and the don’t touch them again. We can all then be ticked off about together.
