If we can't beat Duke 1 out of 3 times, I am not sure what the point of going to the NCAA is. You are going to have to beat a Duke-level team(s) to win the NCAAT. And if you aren't capable of doing that, going to the NCAAT just isn't that meaningful.

You don't need to win a title every year -- obviously.

But you should have at least a reasonable possibility of doing that. If we can't compete with the Auburn, Duke, Bama level teams, then NCAAT attendance is essentially a participation trophy.
