He’s a prolific poster on the social-media platform X, which he bought in 2022. He is now helping oversee a sweeping revamp of the federal government as co-head of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency, or DOGE.

This is quite possibly the dumbest thing I've read all year. And yes, that's not all that long, but it's been an exceptionally stupid year. This year is going to be the El Nino of stupidity. Largely because the British, unlike us, seem to have learned something of a lesson with Boris Johnson in charge and voted the Tories out in a landslide last year. It would appear that our incoming government and media system is far more vulnerable and pliable for someone like Musk to play with.

Bannon using the populist anti-billionaire tack here is mostly on brand for him, but note also that Bannon is promoting his personal brand of xenophobia as “anti-racist” in his attack on Musk, Thiel and others.
I guess he sees an opportunity to undermine Musk’s influence over the easily manipulated Trump.
