I have a feeling the real story here is that Trump is in way worse shape than most people realize and is being protected by his handlers much like Biden was over the last couple of years. Note that we’ve seen almost nothing of Trump since the election, and his tweets are obviously being written by others. And he was mostly incoherent the last month on two on the campaign trail.

Elon has clearly become his mouthpiece, so it’s extremely likely one of two narratives is true. Either Elon is calling the shots and Trump is just choosing to be his Reek, or Elon is calling the shots because Trump is no longer physically and mentally capable of doing it himself. Either way, the chickens are already coming home to roost for the GOP, and they’re about to experience a world of hurt over the next few months. This is what happens when you choose chaos agents over leaders.
The third alternative is that Trump doesn't care who is calling the shots. He just wants the pomp and to stay out of jail with a side of power to punish people that aren't loyal. It isn't like he was a policy wonk the first time around. Nothing has changed, I'd be shocked if he's told more than one of his 'handlers' (miller and that crew), I don't care what you do so long as I don't get blamed/people like me; my taxes are dropped and I can continue to graft. However, while Trump might not care his handlers certainly do as their plan was to be the power behind the throne implementing their agenda. If the handlers move against Leon, that is a signal that it is a civil war over who gets to pull Trump's puppet strings.

Yeah, that was what I was trying to suggest with my first option, but I agree that’s a possibility. I’m still going to be watching closely, though, to see if Trump’s cognitive abilities continue to decline. After all the criticism of Biden and the media’s coverage, I’m sure our house Pubs will be doing the same. Right?

Of course it would be bad for government efficiency, but they don't really want government to be efficient. They're just going to do this to get more government workers to quit. The more workers they can drive out this way the less they'll have to actually fire. It's similar to what our state legislature is doing to teachers here in NC. Just refuse to give veteran teachers pay raises and gradually make conditions worse and worse by diverting more and more of the public school budget to vouchers and charters and so on, and then settle back and watch as fewer and fewer teachers enter the profession and veteran teachers take early retirement. The more miserable you can make workers, the more of them quit and the worse government services and public ed gets. It's a win-win for them.

Well, duh! You can't make money off public education, and you can't make public schools Christian schools.

Musk saying we need to increase H1B spots. I wouldn't agree with this if still using the random lottery system we currently have - where most spots are taken by Indian owned 'consulting firms' (aka bodyshops). I liked the idea that was previously floated of filling the spots ranked by salaries of the positions (highest to lowest) rather than flooding the market with a bunch of cheap entry level workers.

I love that idea. I also think it should be much easier for those guys to switch companies. If companies need to treat h1b holders like human beings to keep them, the foreign workers are more on par with the demands of US citizen workers. Then the only real reason to hire them is that they are more talented and not just easier to exploit.

What idea? He didn’t present any actual idea.

Maybe if the US was doing better in educating their citizens, we wouldn't need to bring in people with these skills.

It's interesting that Musk and drump seem to be ok bringing in lower paid people for the computer industry, but they want to stop those in the agricultural industry. Maybe it follows the thought of them wanting to dumb down the American worker, so they are easily manipulated? Maybe?

Wow it's like apartheid and Krugerrands never existed? Peter Theil, Musk et al are playing the pubs & public media like a fiddle and hate is such a great seasoning in any American meal. We best check ourselves before we wreck ourselves. I'm thinking it's too late.
