I'm not doubting the number. Like I said, I just don't recall hearing it was that high. I also haven't followed the Epstein situation all that closely.....since he's dead and mostly all we have, as far as information goes, is something between nearly baseless speculation and conspiracy theories.

In a statement addressed to the DOJ's acting director, Schnitt said that he had no idea he was being recorded and that he met the O'Keefe reporter — who he said was pretending to be an au pair — on Hinge.

  • Schnitt said that the comments to the reporter were based on what he had "learned in the media" and not from his work at the DOJ.
  • "Had I a clue, the first date would have ended immediately and there never would have been a second one," Schnitt wrote.…”

The funny thing is, I can totally see this dude just bullshitting to try to impress his blind date — it sounded like she was playing up being the ditzy type to honeypot him. I don’t know how these dating ties work, but how did this guy get himself a date with a Veritas Vixen anyway?

Has Trump ever expressed concern for Epstein victims?

Also, it was a GWB Republican, who went on to serve in Trump’s cabinet, not Democrats, who cut the infamous sweetheart deal with Epstein.

And there were no “very public trials” of Epstein. He got a very generous plea deal from Acosta the first time and died in prison pending trial (in custody of the Trump DOJ) the second time.

Trump probably thought he had managed to kill this story in August but in fact it was always scheduled to resume when Congress came back into session thanks to Comer’s ill-considered investigation… and it was Q-MAGA that revived this story this year and the ridiculous attempt at pretending to release the Epstein files by the Bondi DOJ that blew this up for Trump. Democrats are certainly exploiting it, but they can’t claim credit for creating the maelstrom.

And Trump’s own long and fairly well documented friendship with Epstein and his own comments on the subject have also fed the insatiable demand for more disclosure.
