The expression "he wouldn't actually join the lynching party, but he might buy a piece of the rope as a souvenir," strikes me as the attitude a lot of Republicans are drifting towards in regard to St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago. These people were despicable before St. Donald and they will be despicable after St. Donald.

I think an awful lot of them would like to get rid of trump and assume the mantle but to do that, you need the Trump endorsement. And that guy holds grudges. Although I suspect behind the scenes, plenty of Republicans are working to take Trump off the board without him knowing. That leak came from someone.

I’m having a hard time believing this. House leadership, Bondi and top DOJ officials, and FBI leadership would all have been knowingly covering this up. The fallout would be immense. He couldn’t escape impeachment if what’s in the files is what people keep speculating.

The officials you mentioned in the House, the DOJ, and the FBI are not intelligent people. IF the material exists and gets released, count me as stunned that they didn't already destroy it.

Not to mention they all think they are the smartest in the room as well as being above the law....They released a binder of nonsense and thought that would somehow put the issue to bed. They 100 percent thought/ think they can sweep everything under the rug.

Probably not wrong - but to be fair there are a ton of ways the material could be damaging for Trump but not prosecutable.

But not leakable? I find it hard to believe that no one in Justice would somehow make sure those photos got to the press. If there is a photo of Trump with a topless girl or girls, you don’t think that would have seen the light of day by now?

I don’t know. BIden had a much more competent and professional FBI and DOJ that might be less likely to leak things.

I’m not so sure. I mean, if your standard is having a high likelihood of winning a conviction you might not jump forward with “here are a half dozen pictures of Donald Trump with a naked 15 year old girl sitting on his lap.”
