Yeah I think it was a joke that people are latching on to for some reason, which is really damaging the actual information that is coming to light. It's changing the important focus for homophobic laughs.
I disagree that finding humor in this is inherently homophobic.

It would be just as funny if the person that Trump supposedly gave oral sex to was Hillary. The humor comes from (1) Trump being the one to have to do something for someone else with no suggestion of reciprocity, (2) the other person in the exchange being someone that Trump would reasonably hate, and (3) the idea that famous/powerful people we typically view as "serious people" have sex.

I do agree that it could easily move into homophobia, but it's not necessary for the humor to work.

Unfortunately, I don't think this entire Epstein saga goes anywhere. Some embarrassing things will be released about Trump and others. 2/3 of Americans gasp. Politicians run around CYAing for a while. No charges are brought. Life goes on and nothing changes except our hope for decency in this country somehow finds a new low. Am i wrong?

I have come to the conclusion that they're not telling that to democrats as a threat, but rather as they're last defense to justify defending Trump in their own mind.
I agree, and have never thought they're threatening Democrats, I'm just saying that it's amusing watching how surprised they seem to be when Democrats don't take the bait and automatically start defending Bill Clinton (or some other Democrat accused of such things), but instead just say "if he's on the list too then he's guilty and needs to be punished like anyone else involved in this travesty." They're so blindly and fully committed to defending Dear Leader no matter what that the very notion of publicly admitting that he's guilty of anything (especially anything hated libruls accuse him of doing) is simply unthinkable to them. Democrats not sticking up for their own when it comes to the Epstein Files genuinely baffles them, I think, and is incomprehensible to them.

I think the main problem with the Epstein investigation, from a prosecution perspective, is I sincerely doubt Epstein kept detailed enough records regarding his sex trafficking activities to allow for prosecution of those who took advantage of said activities.

Why would he? He wasn't running a brothel, per se, he was using these young women as inducements to gain access and other business deals with powerful men. Unless one of his goals was to blackmail them, which it doesn't seem it was, he's far better off leaving no actual evidence of his and his potential partners' activities behind.

So it is most likely that what an investigation can turn up is evidence that sex trafficking happened by Epstein (and Maxwell) but very little direct evidence of who those took advantage of the young women being trafficked because it was in no one's best interest for any evidence on that side to be manufactured or retained. There will certainly be circumstantial evidence based on certain communications and other records, but the kind of direct evidence needed to prosecute those who utilized these services by Epstein will be severely lacking in nearly every case.

Hopefully it was consensual, but in terms of surprising news this is about the least-surprising or serious news we've heard about Trump since before his first term. The guy is a serial, wholesale womanizer who regards women as little more than sex objects to be used for his personal gratification and then dropped like a hot potato when he gets bored with them or they piss him off for some random reason. Add in Melania not living with him anymore - she stays at his penthouse in NYC - and no doubt he's probably got a harem of young WH and Mar-a-Lago aides, servants, etc. that he sleeps with. No doubt it's disgusting, but hardly surprising, shocking, or nearly as serious as his many other actions in Trump 2.0.

I’d add that I see this as making fun of the alpha/beta obsession by the right, rather than being homophobic. Trump has always been presented as their alpha fever dream. This harms that image.
This.

I couldn’t care less if a politician is gay. It’s the macho image MAGA loves to portray and the outright disdain for anything LGBTQ that makes it funny.

Exactly. I remember that stupid fucker Ramrouser posting in here one time about how Trump is an “alpha” lol. Trump is a grotesque fat ass that wears diapers and makeup, makes fruity hand gestures when he talks, and also sucks dick. So embarrassing to think that someone like that is the epitome of masculinity.

I disagree, simply because I think it’s likely Epstein kept Kompromat on everyone.

Live boy or dead girl.

Trump's checking all the boxes
Immigrant trans athlete might just be the straw we need to break the camel's back.

Now that I think about it, when Trump says "no more trans for everyone"... it's because he wants them all for himself.

No trans of thee. All the trans for me.

Second story about missing CD's and hard drives.
Link: FBI agents used a saw to open a safe in Jeffrey Epstein's Manhattan mansion that held hard drives and diamonds

When the FBI raided Epstein's NYC mansion in the summer of 2019, they cut open a safe and found it full of cash, diamonds, CD's and hard drives. But because the FBI's search warrant didn't cover CD's and hard drives, the FBI could not remove them. By the time the FBI got a proper search warrant, the CD's and hard drives were gone. So, in 2019, who was President and how was this oversight allowed to happen? Makes you wonder what was on those CD's and hard drives, how many copies of that data have been subsequently made, and who got copies of that data? I have never understood why the disappearance of these CD's and hard drives is not a bigger story.

ETA: Who the f$*% gets a search warrant for Jeffery Epstein's home and doesn't put CD's and hard drives as among the items being searched for?

And that is where the far right and far left conspiracists seem to agree. They also share a similar conspiracy about Charlie Kirk’s assassination being a Mossad project.
