We aren't even sure it happened at all. And by we, I mean normal people. She has been pretty thoroughly discredited at this point.

Also included in Monday's document unsealing is an exhibit that contains emails sent by Ransome to a New York Post reporter in the fall of 2016.

In those messages, Ransome made allegations that implicated former Presidents Bill Clinton and Donald Trump, Prince Andrew and Richard Branson. She also described alleged videotape evidence she claimed to possess that would back up her allegations but said she could not provide it, according to the messages.

Ransome subsequently told the New York Post reporter, who did not publish any story related to the allegations, that she wanted to "retract everything I have said to you and walk away from this," according to an unsealed message from October 2016.

In 2019, The New Yorker reported that Ransome told the magazine she had invented the claims of videotapes to draw attention to Epstein's behavior and to make him believe she had "evidence that would come out" if Epstein harmed her, according to the magazine.

Good point

It may not have happened at all...or maybe she was just another girl receiving death threats and decided to "retract" her claims for her protection.

Who knows ?

I doubt miserable is the right word. Trump does not appear capable of true shame and dejection. He has deluded himself into a sealed cognitive feedback loop.

My take is a bit different. The false self persona he projects is a defense to protect his true self from feeling shame, humiliation, rejection, and inferiority.

Such is the sad life of a narcissist or in Trump's case a malignant narcissist...

I agree with this. At his core is a pathetic little boy weeping because nobody likes him.
 
I actually think he's the world's greatest posturer with one of the world's largest inferiority complexes. He's never had the talent to win and, all his life, he's either had things bought for him or bought and/or took them. Of course, he's transactional. He's an empty shell of a person who never had to relate to others. He never had to learn to be anything but a user.

That and the name recognition and hyperbolic exaggeration of his abilities by The Apprentice. Political parties couldn't have sold that story or cover up all the scandals in the production of it because the media weren't complete sellouts at the time.
