Is this a new CBS report or just more fake news by mainstream media ?
Its legit. Its a bit of a bombshell that is buried at the end of this report behind a couple of other weird things.

"The noose Epstein allegedly used has never been definitively identified. According to the inspector general's report, a noose collected at the scene was later determined not to be the ligature used in Epstein's death."

but one thing we can infer is that an ICE agent didn't kill him; otherwise he would been found shot in the head...

After reading the CBS report, one could infer that perhaps Epstein did not commit suicide by hanging himself and that perhaps it was a homicide.

But that does not make any sense. I can't imagine anyone who would have a motive and power to have him killed in a highly secure single cell.

How the hell has nothing been done about this?
Probably because they're just stories, unsupported by evidence.

Anderson Cooper acknowledged that most of these claims came out just before the 2020 election.

If there was evidence to charge people, it would have happened long before now. These files are far from new.

Agree that the most salacious claims (baby eating/digitally penetrating girls in large groups to test tightness) are likely ramblings of crazy people. Even if you take all of that away there is enough Trump involvement to remove him from office. There is enough other people involvement to arrest and prosecute them...but they redacted those names. Still waiting for the legal justification for redacting perpetrator names....

There is zero evidence that any of the claims were ever investigated at all.

Followup notes, investigators actually asking questions

You know...the kinds of things that would be in the files of a major criminal investigation.
I don't know if that was part of the legal requirement.

It seem very, very unlikely, given how long this case has been around, that no law enforcement, under any administration, has ever investigated the claims.

"Yes — the Epstein Files Transparency Act, the federal law passed by Congress and signed in November 2025, does require the Justice Department (DOJ) to release investigative materials relating to Jeffrey Epstein, and that encompasses things like investigative notes, internal communications, and other government-held records."

There's certainly no evidence that some very rich and powerful people would try to keep that from happening, is there?

This is also listed as a requirement:

  • Protect information that could jeopardize an active federal investigation.
