So, the two options here are either Trump called the police about Epstein or the police chief is lying?
I don't doubt that Trump called the police in or around 2006. Epstein had tried to undercut him on a money laundering scam just a couple of years before --

Nov. 2004: Trump and Epstein sparred over an oceanfront mansion

In 2019, The Washington Post reported about a 2004 bidding war over a Palm Beach oceanfront mansion as driving a wedge between Trump and Epstein.

The dispute happened months before Palm Beach police began investigating allegations that Epstein was sexually abusing minors.

The mansion entered the market after previous owner and healthcare tycoon-turned-philanthropist Abraham Gosman declared bankruptcy, Palm Beach Daily News reported.

Bankruptcy court acquired the home — dubbed Maison de l'Amitie, or House of Friendship — and put it on the auction block. Trump outbid Epstein, securing the 62,000-square-foot mansion for $41.35 million.

Before the auction, the trustee in the case, Joseph Luzinski, described the showdown as "two very large Palm Beach egos going at it," said The Washington Post's report.

The interesting part, of course, is that Trump knew enough in 2006 to get an investigation started into Epstein that resulted in his 2008 guilty plea for solicitation of prostitution from someone under 18 years old. Interesting, but not surprising, given what Trump and Epstein were doing together circa 2003 --

Almost certainly met him through Les Wexner, who was just unredacted as a sex trafficking co-conspirator. The entire hospital (Wexner medical center) is named after him.

Also, the doc is still employed by OSU. Wonder if he’ll get fired or if OSU will take Wexner’s name off of the medical center.

There is no honor among thieves. it's gonna be the biggest "duh" moment when it comes out what really happened in that jail cell.

My guess is it will eventually come out that Trump ratted Epstein out to the feds, leading to his first conviction. Of course, to rat him out he had to know where the bodies are buried. Hope we eventually get the full unbridled truth, evidencing what a piece of shit Trump is.

I’m not saying the story isn’t worth following but I just can’t get roped into it when Trump and his administration know if you just ignore the outrage, it’ll eventually go away. Howard Lutnick, among others, would have already been fired or worse with any other administration. Trump? Just ignore because there’s no consequences anymore.

I think at the end of all this we'll have good evidence that there were a suprisingly large number of wealthy and famous individuals that knew and interacted with epstein on a social level. I think we'll have evidence that a subset of those people enjoyed stepping out on their wives with adult women somewhat proximate to epstein. I think we'll find a smaller group with a population of somewhere between very few and two, enjoyed having sex with underage females in proximity to Epstein.

I suspect Trump is in cohort B but wouldn't be absolutely shocked if he is in cohort C.

I think it's also possible that Epstein was doing some sort of underhanded financial engineering like money laundering or facilitating tax dodging and there's a small chance that he was a spy.
