If you are at all versed in the semi truth mind games the FSB like to play (and to be fair we do too), it is 1000% consistent with that to deliberately leak the "the Russians have Trump on a pee tape" story, knowing that the half truth (true part: they have compromat on Trump, false part: that it involved women peeing on each other in a Russian hotel room) would be really effective innoculating Trump against discovering they have have the child sex abuse stuff via Epstein. Send everyone looking for an incident in a hotel room during a Trump visit to Russia, knowing there was zero evidence to find about that. And when it turns out to be a nothing burger, then the implication is that Russia has compromat on Trump is also a nothing burger.

This is a high level game, and the one playing it are very good at it, having honed thier shills over the last 70 years.

I think he was released 10-15 years after Clinton. In the article, it stated Clinton wanted to release him, but Tenet threatened to resign if Clinton went through with it.

I don’t think kompromot is a thing anymore. In modern politics, any video, sound or witness testimony can be claimed to be faked.

How could you prove that the photo of Trump with a young girl is genuine? You couldn’t. So the photo would effectively be worthless.

This has come to my attention as well. He has always lied and prevaricated. However his rate of “fake news” allegations have accelerated seemingly as his mind is less agile and his gambits less free of consequence. It deeply worries me as foreign wars, subversion of media, and an increasingly mentally unwell authoritarian are recipes for domestic strong-arming, population isolation, and consolidation of power.

I think this country needs a more centralized group of political opposition figures who can coordinate messages and mobilization of public protests and boycotts. I was listening to Anne Applebaum speak on the patterns within democratic erosions and she said the political opposition to authoritarianism always go through a phase of splintering and wandering the wilderness. It is a time of message testing, finding the source of energy, and vetting the next group of galvanizing leaders. Here is hoping we are beyond the halfway mark of that wandering.
