Ever Been To A Naturalization Ceremony?

I wouldn't put it past the current administration to storm the facility just before the ceremony takes place and ship everyone there, regardless of citizenship, off to some out of country prison. Just for $&@* and grins and because that is who we elected to run our country.

I have NEVER met anyone who I suspected might be in the US as an undocumented person who was doing a job I either wanted to do or had any interest in doing. Undocumented people aren't taking American jobs, they are doing the jobs no one else wants to do, but nevertheless, have to be done. If I was willing to pay $50/hr and provide the equipment, drinks, and snacks, I bet I could get some America citizens to cut my grass. But I'm not willing to do that. And I'm not willing to accept the quality of work that American citizens would do.

I really believe I would start back cutting my own grass before I would hire an American citizen to half-ass the job.

Secretary of State Marshall.

She was the most thoughtful speaker by far.

More later.

Madame Secretary informed the new citizens about beaches, BBQ, and basketball and their unique place in the lives of folks living in North Carolina, noting that while we tended to get along in discussions of the first, we often went to battle over the second and third topic.

I don’t know about that beach agreement stuff……

You get someone who loves Oak Island, Holden, Ocean Isle and/or Sunset Beaches in a room with someone who mocks those beaches for being coated with muddy Cape Fear River effluent water……fisticuffs might arise…..

Then there are the Topsail fans and others who hate all the little stones mixed in with the sand because of the number of “creeks” crossing Topsail.

Let’s not forget the passionate Emerald Isle people…..

Then we get to the Outer Banks.

“I hereby declare, on oath, that I absolutely and entirely renounce and abjure all allegiance and fidelity to any foreign prince, potentate, state, or sovereignty, of whom or which I have heretofore been a subject or citizen”

That sounds to like dual citizenship is prohibited.
