I prefer to focus on the substance: this Administration is now taking decisive action against the Houthi rebels. The Biden Administration basically ceded to Iran the Red Sea shipping lanes. Trump is now hitting the rebels HARD and will re establish control of the Red Sea. Basically, 75% of the shipping traffic has been going around Africa to avoid the Suez canal - delaying shipments and driving up the cost of goods.

Does anyone who is outraged by this faux pas think for one second that the Trump Administration would have engaged in such an action against Yemen's Houthis without getting express approval--in advance, with disclosure of full operational details--from Vlad "the Ras" Putin or someone Vlad had designated. There is no need for OPSEC, when disclosing all the details to Russia in advance for approval is standard protocol. For all I know, this whole thing, including the disclosure to The Atlantic editor, might have been part and parcel of the instructions received from Russia. The standard false equivalency response is total bullshit. Trump has repeatedly shown that he has little interest in the importance of operational security and, with the exception of the Sandy Berger incident, there is no parallel to how Democrats regard it. Nature abhors a vacuum - at some point, this is going to cost us lives and treasure.

These reactions make me think that the only respite is to wait for the oncoming conflagration, whatever form it might take, and watch the GOP flail at managing the consequences. But it took us a decade and a half to clean up the Iraq mess, and five years to clean up the 2008 financial crisis, and the GOP apparently suffered no consequences for their recklessness and carelessness. I worry that the scope of the crisis is going to be horrifying in order for people to understand that this party is incapable of managing our government.

And we need some real institutional leadership if a credible alternative is going to emerge from the chaos. At this point, our institutional political leaders, academics, business leaders and law firms are acting like cowards.

OK Einstein, explain the difference between Hillary's (whom I despise) email server off location, and Trump's Bozo Brigade using an illegal app? And for the record, I don't think Hillary should have gone to jail, but she should have been fired immediately.

The only difference that I know of, is that there was never any evidence that any info got into the hands of people without proper clearances. Actually, there is one other major difference, Hillary was at least investigated and found "negligent."
