While I recognize that use of Signal is an intentional end run around FOIA, I don't see how this conversation would ever be FOIA-able. So while it's a technical violation of the act, I don't think that rises to the level of outrage. I save that for the inclusion of pre-launch details over an insecure channel.

It's not FOIA-able but it still needs to be preserved as a government record for posterity.

I do agree that it's the least important aspect of the story.

I think the question is, "If they are using Signal for this (an incredibly illegal use of Signal), what else are they using Signal for?"

Unfortunately, I think this is correct. Trump's cabinet members have tied themselves in knots trying to admit absolutely no wrongdoing because they think the Boss wants them to do so. Waltz is the only one who said he screwed up and the buck stops with him. Simply admit you were wrong and move on. Trump has actually been pretty reasonable in HIS comments, stating everyone needs to learn from their mistakes.

What else is there to say about this? We know Pete shouldn't have been discussing the timing of the attacks on Signal and Goldberg shouldn't have been added to the chat by Waltz (or staff). At this point the dead horse is simply being hit.
Dead horse or not, it’s just further proof that Hegseth is an unqualified dumbass who has no business being in his position.

It's not a dead horse... All the people involved still have all their jobs and security clearances.

This horse is very much alive.
The problem is none of that is going to change. Trump sure as hell won’t fire anyone or allow anyone to strip clearances and Congress is too cowardly to impeach any of them.
