Gabbard and Hegseth
So this was worse than Afghanistan with people dying and literally falling out of the sky from airplanes? That debacle indirectly lead to Russia attacking Ukraine. Where was the demand for mass firings after that foreign policy debacle - and don't try and blame it on Trump as Biden was responsible for the logistics and the Sept 11th timing.
uhhhhh…. yes, this was absolutely 100% unequivocally worse from an OPSEC standpoint. Like, ten times worse. To my knowledge, the Afghanistan withdrawal was a logistics error. This was quite specifically a breach of national security. That’s like comparing apples to cannon balls. Your problem with the Afghanistan withdrawal is that it was a logistical failure. My problem with this current scandal is that it is an unacceptable failure of maintaining operational security and integrity that could directly negatively impact United States military personnel and operations.

While I recognize that use of Signal is an intentional end run around FOIA, I don't see how this conversation would ever be FOIA-able. So while it's a technical violation of the act, I don't think that rises to the level of outrage. I save that for the inclusion of pre-launch details over an insecure channel.

It's not FOIA-able but it still needs to be preserved as a government record for posterity.

I do agree that it's the least important aspect of the story.

I think the question is, "If they are using Signal for this (an incredibly illegal use of Signal), what else are they using Signal for?"

It’s wild watching Republicans like Ramrouser admit that they don’t see a problem with something like a personal email server.

Unfortunately, I think this is correct. Trump's cabinet members have tied themselves in knots trying to admit absolutely no wrongdoing because they think the Boss wants them to do so. Waltz is the only one who said he screwed up and the buck stops with him. Simply admit you were wrong and move on. Trump has actually been pretty reasonable in HIS comments, stating everyone needs to learn from their mistakes.

What else is there to say about this? We know Pete shouldn't have been discussing the timing of the attacks on Signal and Goldberg shouldn't have been added to the chat by Waltz (or staff). At this point the dead horse is simply being hit.
Dead horse or not, it’s just further proof that Hegseth is an unqualified dumbass who has no business being in his position.
