In a reverse FAFO, my taxes are about to drop significantly due to the increased cap on SALT deductions. I'm willing to pay more to help people in need but if these poor Trumpers in rural America want to spit in my face then I'll happily take my tax cut and watch with glee as their benefits are cut.

And as their financial and life situations grow increasingly worse they'll just find some way to blame it all on the Democrats. Somehow it will be all their fault that their food stamps or Medicaid or some other government program they relied on got cut, and not Dear Leader or DOGE or Congressional Republicans. And yet again we see the theme that has very clearly been illustrated about Trumpers - not just the leadership, but their base - since January. Article after article has featured Trump-supporting immigrants facing harassment, imprisonment or deportation, poor whites living in poor rural areas that depend on government assistance to get by having their federal jobs and assistance cut, small businesspeople struggling or facing bankruptcy because of his tariffs, all saying over and over again "I was all for deporting immigrants/cutting government waste/getting "tough" on other nations, but I thought it would only affect other people I didn't like, not me or my business or my family or my town. We're all big Trump supporters, why is he doing this to us? It's not fair - it's all these other people who should be suffering!" It's all just pure, unadulterated, myopic selfishness on display.

As long as they and their families were OK they simply didn't give a shit about anybody else, and maybe even enjoyed seeing people they didn't like lose their jobs or be deported and suffer. But since it's also happening to them it's all just so grossly unfair - and don't you dare tell them they're getting what they voted for, or not show them the appropriate amount of sympathy and compassion! I do sympathize and empathize for them. I recall being mislead in the past. I'm just fortunate enough to have had enough clues and just enough sense to figure out a few things.

Who I have no feelings for are the ass lockers in congress who are such cowards that they now based their every thought on what he would want. I hope everyone of them is prosecuted when he's gone and we are restoring our country.
