I don'y pretend to know NYC politics I assume it is really filthy -like next level

Eh, compared to what. As USA goes, sure. Globally, not so much.
Louisiana, Arkansas, Texas?

Not so much.

Tim Moore and Phil Berger’s North Carolina?

Not so much.

Jimmy Green’s North Carolina…..paving a tobacco warehouse parking lot? As a friend commented when the Jimmy Green “scandal broke, “In Louisiana, we’d thank him for stealing so little….,and vote him out of office for being so stupid.”

I think few New Yorkers would be surprised by one or two such indictments, particularly around things like permitting, but a lot of New Yorkers will be astonished at this level of alleged corruption happening.

This thing is spread throughout NYC government.
It will be interesting to see what all the scams are they are accused of. Listed in the article:

- The police commissioner's brother was asking for a bribe to make a noise complaint fine go away for a nightclub.

- Someone at the mayor's department was leaning on the fire department to approve new building plans for the Turkish consulate even though there were concerns of safety.

- there were some bribes that needed to be paid to participate in some women and minority contracting programs.

Seems like if you wanted to get certain things done in New York, bribes were required.

It was a close race between Adams and Garcia (she was endorsed by the NYT) for the Democratic nomination (which was what mattered). The GOP nominee was the Guardians Angel nut.

My wife voted for Garcia. I still vote in NC. City politics are pretty deep and wide...lots to learn about how things go there.
