Follow A Raindrop

I live in Charlotte, but grew up 15 miles away in Concord. A raindrop that falls on Charlotte goes south down the Catawba River towards Columbia and into the Congaree River system to find the ocean in Charleston. A raindrop in Concord goes east into Stanly County into the Yadkin/PeeDee system and rolls past Myrtle Beach to eventually reach the ocean by Georgetown. I find it interesting that two places that close together and so closely linked lead into two completely different river basins.

Imagine living near the continental divide.
