Former CNN anchor Don Lemon taken into custody, sources say

My point was not to argue whether the J6 reporters were entitled to 1A protections during J6 (I'm not familiar with all the details on those cases) but to simply point out that multiple J6ers (the article mentions 8) made claims that they were journalists and/or documentary filmmakers and there was absolutely NO CONCERN or OUTRAGE expressed by the mainstream press about freedom of the press for these reporters. We know why: these were right wing journalists or film makers who were unworthy of 1A protection. Only liberal hacks like Lemon or some lefty activist named Georgia Fort are worthy of 1A freedom of the press protections - according to the legacy media.

I don't know whether Lemon is guilty but he was indicted by a federal grand jury. He has funds to mount a vigorous defense and he has a favorable jury pool in Minneapolis so he'll likely be fine.

Victims, in sworn affidavits, claim the "protestors" prevented them from going to the basement daycare to retrieve their children and otherwise prevented them from leaving the sanctuary. These rioters got in their faces yelling obscenities (reasonable apprehension of bodily harm?). Also, there' s no doubt that their actions interfered with the parishioners lawfully exercising their right of religious freedom at their place of religious worship, i.e. "interfering and disrupting a Church service."

A jury will determine whether Lemon was a participant who violated the CARES Act or merely a journalist. He's getting his due process.
Can you link your source reporting these sworn affidavits that protesters were preventing churchgoers from picking up their children in daycare and preventing them from leaving the church ?

For me that would be very upsetting. Was Don Lemon a participant in blocking churchgoers from picking up their children and leaving the church ?

If Lemon did that then I support his indictment and prosecution by the Trump DOJ... and yes, I understand he did not murder two citizens in cold blood, but that does not excuse him if he prevented churchgoers from picking up their children and leaving the church.

Assuming it gets to a jury, which is dubious. In any event, what are the odds of a St. Paul jury unanimously convicting Lemon? Not high. Just like Trump benefitted from his prosecutions, this will only help Lemon market his podcast.

It is absolutely counterproductive.

But MAGA just wants to have something to divert from the killings in Minneapolis for an hour or so.

I don't. I heard it on Erickson's radio show at noon. I find him to be a reliable source.

Otherwise, I'm sure we'll learn more in the coming days about the details of the witness affidavits.
ahh , you heard it on a radio show at noon. Was it a random someone calling into Erickson's radio show and claiming this ? Was it an actual real news source informing Erickson's radio audience ? If so who was it ?

Or was it Erickson ( a reliable source ) himself reporting this first hand ?

Sworn affidavits? We had lots of "sworn affidavits" after the 2020 elections. As you know, a sworn affidavit without penalty of perjury is meaningless, which means they have to be connected to a case, which I doubt they are. Just saying, "I swear this happened" is toilet paper

I found the affidavit on google in 10 seconds. It's pure hearsay. It's an FBI agent who personally witnessed nothing and is purportedly reporting what victims told him but he is clearly not a reliable source, so this is all bullshit.

Probably the same sources that said that Alex Pretti pulled his gun on Gestapo agents before they murdered him, even though the video clearly shows the Gestapo agent taking the gun out of the holster.

Going out on a limb here but maybe – just maybe – the "details of those cases" are the differentiator here rather than the J6 arrests being some fabricated Obamalibdem scheme that causes your MAGA persecution complex to flare up.

Why would we expect anything else?

They lied when there is clear video of the murder of Alex Pretti, they lied when there is clear video of Renee Good.

Why would we expect them to not lie now?

The Gestapo needs to all be arrested, they have a much higher rate of murders per capita than immigrants.

How do you guys take Ram and Calla seriously?

Ram towed the administration line for the murders in Minnesota you know he's going to support this atrocity of justice too. Remember he supports a man that tried to help trump over turn the results of the election.

I’ve stated on this thread that I really don’t have an opinion whether Lemon violated the FACE Act. He’s been indicted by a grand jury and he’ll receive his due process in Minnesota (a friendly venue).

They don't know how to charge conspiracy, lol. Many of those overt acts are not in fact acts. Standing too close to the pastor, for instance.

And specifically for Super who doesn't listen to pods and who would rather read, here's the relevant part of the pod transcript...
Thank you. I'm of course with Wittes on this, but my analysis would be simpler. Were these people in disguise? They were not. Second clause of the statute is eliminated. First clause requires "injure, oppress, threaten, or intimidate" none of which happened here.

I can't believe the magistrate signed off on this.
