Sorry for the loss of a good friend.
It is heartbreaking to hear of this tragedy, prayers uplifted for all that are affected by this.👃

Sorry for your loss aGDevil. It appears that your college friend had been in a long spiral -- had a similar experience with a good friend of mine from school, but did not end as tragically.

Hoping the family, especially those kids, can eventually find peace

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, if we could give hugs across this board we all would.
 
Damn man. Two kids, and they were home at the time - one of them called 911. As a parent I can't comprehend how badly someone's brain has to break to do something like this and leave your children orphaned and mentally scarred for life. What a tragedy.

That's awful. So sorry for what you're going through.
 
Incredibly tragic. Sorry AgD for the loss. I hope the kids can be taken care of and somehow get the support they'll need for many, many years.
 
So after emotions and thinking and realizing where I've settled...

It's largely fuck him for doing what he did to her and the kids. No one is really overly shocked he hurt himself (the gun part yeah... But we had no idea he was THAT troubled since he largely cut off everything for 7 years to everyone from college). He always had some self destructive tendencies.

But she was amazing.


And now I've got these pics from college with a damn murderer everywhere. Fuck him.

This is why I specifically asked if she had a family structure who could care for the kids. Sadly, I don't think his family will ever be able to really do that. There will be too.much pain and resentment.

I am truly sorry.

I BRIEFLY spoke with his middle brother but didn't get into much. I will try, later, to see what's going on with the kids.
I heard grandparents... And my guess is from what the brother said they are kind of unified because everyone was trying to get him help.

They may be with his older brother who's got the most means of anyone right now to help them. He's the Dean at Howard law school.

Her sister is a pilot for Delta and lives in Metro Atlanta. Rest of her family is still in NoVa though so that's good. Can't imagine what they are feeling.

The stories of his drinking, being absolutely broke, and total decay into a hermit state, not to mention the mental episode with a gun 4 years ago... I'm at a loss why she didn't leave with the kids long ago. But I guess you never think THAT would happen.

Didn't know he was broke. His wife, soon to be ex-wife, was a dentist and he was an attorney. Terrible that he didn't get the help he needed and horrible what he did to his wife and his family.

He apparently had no business for the last few years. Couldn't get clients and I guess he blew everything. Ah article said his mom sent him $3000 to pay a legal bill earlier in the week
 
He hung his own shingle after being tossed from his political career and getting fired from the major law firm after the 2nd woman came out and said he sexually assaulted her. In that time he had a few traffic-type cases and had one case of note in the last two years down in the Norfolk area and that's it. The rest of the time he's spent drinking.
