Finesse,

Did you ever shop at Niche off of Old Greensboro Hwy out near Collins Mountain Road?
I haven't although I had a friend who used to work there and I just bought some garden phlox and liatris from a guy who retired from there a few years back and is selling a few things online from time to time.

Having to water the yard in April is a new experience.

This drought SUCKS
I thought the same thing. I've had to turn on my irrigation system in freaking April. Usually I can make it almost through May without having to do that. And my grass took a beating last year because we went for six consecutive weeks without any significant rain during the late summer when we need it most. But climate change isn't real

Screw it. Just ordered a 100 foot stainless steel hose. Might still have to carry some to the deepest parts but that'll be 20-30 feet and only a small fraction. I can live with that.

If I were you, I would but some soaker hoses, interlace them throughout the garden area, and put a quick disconnect on them so you can connect the hose. Then you just connect the hose and turn it on for an hour or so and disconnect when done or you need the hose for something else. Then you can just leave the soaker hoses in the garden.

Not sure how they'd work with terrain and texture. You need to think a lot more native than garden.

Half of my zoysia is stuck in mid-wakeup mode. AI tells me it's preservation mode to get thru the drought. But usually by now it's all green and some areas still dont have much new growth. And i have no idea when the weather pattern will really change. Every week Weather Channel shows rain 2 weeks out, then that fades like a desert mirage.
