These charts only go through the end of March, but for reference, gas prices by actual price at the time followed by a chart adjusting those prices for inflation:

I went and looked it up. Two and a half years ago was November 2023.

From AAA on Nov 16, 2023, "With Thanksgiving fast approaching (and maybe the in-laws), the national average for a gallon of gas is steadily declining. Since last week, pump prices have fallen six cents to $3.34."

I guess when you are a liar from Louisiana, $3.34 = $6.00. Did that shot hit him in the head?

Gas station up the road from me had been hanging on to $3.99 for many weeks. Drove by today and they’re now $4.29 which is a pretty recent jump.

I'm going to quit being stupid and switch to E85. I found out that the decrease in gas mileage is way less than I thought and the price difference much greater than it was.

How old is your car?

Newer cars the fuel system has been built up to handle the corrosiveness of the ethanol, some older cars were not and the ethanol will cost more in repairs than it's worth.

I love having a hybrid. Getting 40+ MPG is great. If I could keep my foot from slamming the gas pedal so hard, I could probably get better fuel economy.

It's a 2014 and was designed to be flex fuel. I just hadn't ever made the switch.
