He jumped the shark for me when he was one of the first to do exactly what he accused others of doing - acquiescence.

FTR, I did watch the interview. I have not read the other thread. As of now, he only gets my vote if he wins the nomination.

I liked what Pitzker said as well on an interview tonight. He’d have my vote.
I also like Kentucky Guv Beshear as well but these guys need to start playing the game.
 
He should concentrate on getting California right (homeless problem, bullet train to nowhere, fire re build, deficit, crime, confiscatory taxation) before embarking on a national and international campaign. Plus, he’s so fake and full of shit. Pretending he’s a poor black man when he grew up as SF elite.

California, despite its issues, is doing a lot better than Georgia, or most any other 'red' state that you can think of.

"California has a significantly higher GDP per capita and total economic output than Georgia (USA). As of late 2024/2025, California's economy exceeds $4 trillion, boasting one of the highest per capita GDPs in the U.S.. Conversely, Georgia's per capita real GDP is in a lower range ($53,513–$64,897)."

For the record, im no particular Newsom fan because hes too cute by half but I cant help but guffaw at a Trump supporter deriding someone for being fake and full of shit.

It's always funny listening to Republicans constantly refer to California as a failed shithole state when nearly every statistic shows that it is one of the most prosperous states in the country with one of the highest standards of living, and many of the red states that MAGAs live in have lower standards of living and quality of life metrics across the board. And that's true for most red and blue states, with a few exceptions either way.

Any Trump supporter who derides anyone for being fake, full of shit, hypocritical, egotistical, etc. no longer deserves to be taken seriously, because they're either clueless, blindly loyal to the cult, or both.

California overall numbers are good but the rich/poor dichotomy in California is much worse than in most states. The median Californian is not doing nearly as well as the mean Californian. The state desperately needs to build more housing but the combination of Nimbyism and lack of buildable land is a problem that is limiting supply.
