I didn't see an official 2028 thread. Modify/move/merge as needed.

Starting on a lighter note....

Looks like Pete learned from Ted Cruz's mistake of running sans facial hair.

So is Iowa still first Democratic state to go in 2028? Saw his town hall discussed this morning and it was claimed that South Carolina and Georgia were going really early even though that year's schedule has not been settled.

Iowa, New Hampshire, Georgia, South Carolina, Missouri, North Dakota, Kansas, Idaho, Wyoming, and Alaska don’t have dates scheduled, yet.

New York, Michigan, and Nevada are in February; although Nevada might be looking at moving earlier.

Thank you. Did see somewhere that New York might be extremely early. That will be a major change.

I expect we’ll see a lot of attempts to move around.

I’m actually good with Iowa and New Hampshire being early. Yes, each is a small state that isn’t diverse. Why I like small states being early is that it gives an unlikely candidate who isn’t rolling in money a chance at an early win. They also help expose some well-funded candidates who just don’t have the chops to run for President.

The continued front-loading of the primaries since 1988 had the first Super Tuesday has not helped the process.

With as much money as get thrown at Presidential elections now, there is no way other states are going to sit back and let Iowa and NH rake in the lion's share. Whatever the good reasons for doing it that way, there is just too much money in play now.

Too much religion to elect a homosexual.
I worry that we're about to walk headfirst into this situation. As an educated, white, relatively non-religious liberal... I love Pete and would be thrilled if he were our next president. But unfortunately there are a whole lot of people in this country who would never pull the lever for a gay man or woman. To ignore that fact is RIGHT out of the Democratic party's playbook.

I've seen nothing to suggest that Pete is planning on running or has any significant backing for a run.

There is no one I would rather see as President. I'm not optimistic about his chances to win the general election.
Unfortunately, this is my take as well. I believe he has the vision and intelligence to be a phenomenal president. However, as we've seen in both Trump wins, we're surrounded by bigots who would rather be ruled by an idiotic authoritarian than have a woman as president. I am sadly certain that it would apply to sexual orientation, as well.

Grew a beard, did a town hall with veterans yesterday. He’s not doing these things for fun.
Image rebranding and growing national profile. Lots of ways to go with that. I mean, he could run, but I don't think there is any huge constituency backing him right now and my guess is the democratic power players will be risk adverse this time around (even more so than usual). If a Barack Obama type creates lightning in a bottle, that person could potentially grab the nomination. But I've yet to see anything from Pete to suggest that is the 2028 path for him.
