I’ll accept that with the caveat that bigotry doesn’t need to be qualified. Religious bigotry is just bigotry.Religion-fueled bigotry, yes.

Correct.I’ll accept that with the caveat that bigotry doesn’t need to be qualified. Religious bigotry is just bigotry.
Nope. Religious bigotry is extra dumb because it's based on fairytales.I’ll accept that with the caveat that bigotry doesn’t need to be qualified. Religious bigotry is just bigotry.
We are 100% a stupid country already. November 2024 just cemented it.We are such an irredeemably stupid country if Pete Buttigieg is unelectable solely because of his sexual orientation. He’s unbelievably intelligent, incredibly thoughtful, compassionate, and exceptionally well versed in policy but just as easily able to articulate it to the common folk.
Not even. It is based on mistranslations and lack of context, coupled with thousands of years of doctrine further distorting the original language.Nope. Religious bigotry is extra dumb because it's based on fairytales.
Unfortunately, that's where we are as a nation. We are such an irredeemably stupid country if Pete Buttigieg is unelectable solely because of his sexual orientation. He’s unbelievably intelligent, incredibly thoughtful, compassionate, and exceptionally well versed in policy but just as easily able to articulate it to the common folk.

I think both are a major problem that further exaggerate the other. It will be very easy to paint him as a raging far left liberal whether he really is or not.I don’t think it’s Pete’s sexuality that makes him unviable as a Democratic presidential candidate in this moment. What is he offering that is different than the party’s most recent standard bearers?
Now that strikes me as more true. Youth or queerness alone don’t make a candidate transformative if their policies and politics remain fundamentally conservative on economic and class terms.I think both are a major problem that further exaggerate the other.
Compared to 2016 and 2024, he’s male.I don’t think it’s Pete’s sexuality that makes him unviable as a Democratic presidential candidate in this moment. What is he offering that is different than the party’s most recent standard bearers?
There’s some truth here. Elections are about narratives as much as policies, but ignoring policy or treating it as secondary lets the party keep recycling technocrats who don’t inspire or address systemic issues. The points you touch on are just style. That’s a big reason Democrats keep losing.Compared to 2016 and 2024, he’s male.
For many, he passes the “I’d have a beer with him” test (Hillary and Kamala and Al Gore failed that test; shit, Gore lost the “beer” test to a guy who no longer drank).
Mayor Pete’s highly articulate and easy on the ears. Things Hillary nor Biden nor Kamala are.
Few Presidential elections are won or lost on policy platforms.
Most of my comment about the “beer test” was facetious. There’s some truth here. In the long term, the left can only beat back the right by marrying a bold economic agenda with authentic cultural connection. They have to show that they’re both someone people can trust someone who will fight for them.
If you think Buttigieg is on the beer track, I don’t think you’re very well connected with the type of person this political shorthand is supposed to represent.
White bread and McKinsey robot behavior. I think there have been plenty of liberal beer track candidates. Tim Walz, Sherrod Brown, and Jon Tester more recently. It’s about attitude and disposition as well as authenticity through policy commitments. Most of my comment about the “beer test” was facetious.
“I’d like to have a beer with him” is often said by a male who is likely Republican-leaning, if not MAGA. It’s said about a Dubya or Trump (oddly, two people who don’t drink). It’s never said about a woman or Liberal.
Pete’s biggest negative as a Presidential candidate is, as wmheel said, that he’s white bread as hell. I hope he runs for and wins a Senate seat and holds it for 30+ years.
Dear God man, have a little self respect. The small dick energy you're giving off here as you desperately misbehave for attention would be pitiable if you weren't a grown ass man who should know better. Please put Walz/AOC/Crockett/Jeffries at the top of the ticket in 2028.
The fact that the left doesn't know or wants to accept why they lost the election is telling.
Again... you guys are WAY smarter than everyone in this world. Keep going.
You won't win the mid-terms in 2026.
Geez. someone's tighty-whities are in bind this evening. Wife making you sleep on the couch?Isn't that what happens here daily?
You know that is a true statement.
