General Lawn thread

I’m seeking advice. I have fescue in my backyard but it’s a lot of work (weed treat, aerate, overseed and water every year). We neglected it a few years not doing all that and it’s now it’s 80% winter weeds that go dormant in summer so it all looks awful . I’d like to replace it with a grass that spreads and doesn’t require overseeing yearly. It’s too large for zoysia (my front yard zoysia looks great). I can’t afford the sod in the larger back yard. It’ll have to be overseed. It’s partial Sun.
Ant suggestions or advice?
Buy some Zoysia sod and cut in in 1/2’s, 1/3’s, or 1/4’s and plant it equally around your back yard. It will creep and take over the backyard. Follow the Zoysia maintenance schedule. Obviously the more you plant the faster it will take over. I did that in my own yard which was fescue and my Zoysia is beautiful now.

How many pictures of “lawns” in Arizona and California and Las Vegas have you seen?

Lots of homeowners in the Great Southwest Desert like grass lawns.
And those laws cost a fortune to maintain because of the heat in the area.

If I wasn't required to have a specific type of lawn, I wouldn't have what I have.

That can be a slow process, how much are you saving over just resoding the entire yard?

I have a few thousand sq Ft on my lot that I spray with rounduP , or weed eat etc . Mostly to control Ivy
Today I sprayed an about 20-25% vinegar on this stuff
I hope it does the job Glad not to use nasty Roundup or the obnoxious gas powered weed eater

Once the tulips and daffodils have bloomed out...are you suppossed to cut them..tie them...or just leave them alone?? Bonus question
My second year tulips sprouted 4 inches of growth....and that was it ...no Blooms. Is that "normal"

My ex's mother taught me to mix a concoction of Round Up & dish detergent. The detergent helps it to stick.
