“…Combined, the 10 highest-paid athletes brought in $1.4 billion, up slightly from last year’s $1.38 billion and the largest total since Forbes began ranking athlete earnings in 1990. This year is also only the second time, after 2024, that every member of the top 10 made at least $100 million. In fact, heavyweight boxing champion Oleksandr Usyk ($101 million) and golfer Jon Rahm ($100 million) reached the milestone, too, without managing to crack this list.…”
Soto has indeed (unfortunately) won a championship. What's really amazing is that Dak Prescott is in the top 5, he and Soto are the only ones that haven't won a championship.
I wasn't sure, but the quick search I did didn't reveal a championship. Guess I didn't enter the right search phrase.Soto has indeed (unfortunately) won a championship.
He looked pretty good, but Sanders didn’t do much against the Panthers starters (and remember Derrick Brown and Jaycee Horn, the two best Panther defenders didn’t play at all.) Most of his damage was done against the Panthers second and third team defense. Many of those guys won’t make the Panthers 53 man roster by opening day.Sanders played well tonight, for a first pro game. He looked nimble and aware in the pocket and clearly knew his reads. The touchdown throws were impressive. The kid studies.
Also, a lot of his completions were surrendered by the defense, ie checkdowns, long down and distance short throws, and a couple in which the db fell down. He also tried to get his WR killed 3x on slants and threw at least 3 passes that get picked in most regular season games.
Overall, good first outing, but from what I watched, the stats and glowing headlines don’t match the eye test.
Isn't that what the preseason is for? I mean, it's his first game in the NFL period. Most rookies are going to struggle against the starters, because they've never played against a team full of NFL starters before. Everyone gets to play against second teamers in the preseason. He looked pretty good, but Sanders didn’t do much against the Panthers starters (and remember Derrick Brown and Jaycee Horn, the two best Panther defenders didn’t play at all.) Yeah it is a horrid year. Gotta find the bright spots where we can. My husband’s Phillies, OTOH …I guess that's what the roids were for. It would be easier to be excited about that if we weren't paying him $15M or whatever to play like a $1M player, and in general if the team wasn't just straight up bad. A lot of injuries have hurt the team, so it's understandable, but I think we have a record in the bottom 6.
