The crazy thing is that for so many you can’t say “claim they believe” because they are in a cult and will truly believe anything that Trump tells them to believe. It seems insincere to normal rational people until you realize their level of brainwashing.

Not saying that about whoever you wrote about. I probably have that person on super ignore. But in general assuming there is any rational basis to their actions is a mistake.
And who did the brainwashing? This needs to be aired out, and literally NO ONE talks about it. Hint: It’s a major “news” network, and it’s been a work in progress for many many years.

Impressive speech. The Canadians have clearly been doing some work to free themselves. Not once did he mention the United States.

Crazy. Never thought we'd be here, in my lifetime.
When we say things like “this is unprecedented” or “never thought I’d see the day,” MAGA actually cheers louder, thinking it’s some sort of accomplishment. We are literally and truly fucked.

I think the vast majority of the troops would follow orders to deploy to Greenland. How confidently or willingly they would engage in lethal firefights with NATO forces there, I don't know, but probably still most of them would.
Then we are truly lost.

Then we are truly lost.
I'm not willing to give up yet. The troops following orders does not mean that the American people writ large, or what's left of the rest of the federal government, wouldn't revolt against such an action. I completely understand having no faith in that happening given what we've seen recently, but I don't think it is is either practically, morally, or politically appropriate to ever concede that we have no chance at a better future.

Carney's full speech. It's a good one, full of big words Trump won't understand and have the patience for. It's a declaration of independence for the rest of the Western World.

Is there some rhyme or reason to the floating shadows in the background? I found the substance and delivery interesting, but the shifting shadings was distracting. Maybe I'm mad...

I am guessing an LED board with a slight animation to the screen.

Later today, likely early afternoon, representatives from the political groupings will meet to confirm their decision not to go ahead with a vote ratifying last summer’s US trade deal in the wake of Donald Trump’s declarations will take over Greenland.

This is a significant move by the parties as, unlike the political statements denouncing Trump’s threats, it will delay the implementation of the 0% tariffs on many US imports to the EU, agreed in August.

MEPs had been arguing for changes to the deal including the reduction in the 50% tariffs on steel and the 15% tariff on drinks, which had previously been set at close to zero.

As I was taking out the recycling, I heard on the radio that there is now an evacuation drill to take place today for the Canadian military magazine depot on the Halifax Harbor, so the general public doesn't panic at the blaring Klaxons.

shit's getting real.

As much as I hate Trump with a white hot passion, it’s 10x that much for the Pubs in Congress who do nothing. Sure, some blindly support him, but I’m talking about the ones who know we’re in crazy world right now, and do nothing just to protect their own asses. Insane that we’re at this point in history, with a system of checks & balances in place to prevent this very situation.
WTF is their tipping point?
